Tokem, established over ten years ago, discovered the astonishing artistry in the knives made by the Antandroy people in the arid south of Madagascar. Tokem has taken the amazing skills and savoir faire that is jealously guarded by its craftsmen, and worked with them to create a wide range of unique flatware. The cutlery is composed of wood and recycled hammered steel. The steel is worked cold, increasing its resistance.. The salvaged recycled steel sometimes reveals the mysteries of its past. . The wooden handles are carved from palissander, or sometimes from ebony and all are procured from recycled sawmill materials. To maintain the beauty of the cutlery, we recommend that you wash them with cold water and dry them immediately. Over time, to maintain and enhance its beauty, you should nourish the wood. The Tokem flatware are entirely handcrafted and with a strategy of sustainable development.
